Pear, Cinnamon & Nutmeg Exfoliating Scrub

pears and cinnamon
A pear at the peak of ripeness is bliss: sweet, juicy and tender, with a simply intoxicating fragrance. But it only lasts for about five minutes and if you wait too long, it turns to mush. But don't lose hope! That slightly overripe pear is perfect for creating a wonderful face & body scrub that will leave your skin softer, fresher and glowing.

Pears contain Malic Acid, a natural anti-oxidant that helps exfoliate skin, plus they're a little grittier than apples, which makes them perfect for a scrub. Cinnamon has natural antibacterial qualities, and helps stimulate the growth of new skin. Nutmeg helps fade blemishes and dark spots.  Who doesn't want fresher, brighter skin - especially when it smells so good?

Ingredients

1 large, ripe pear (slightly overripe is fine, too)
1 tsp ground Cinnamon
1/4 fresh ground Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Coconut Oil

Instructions

Core and roughly mash pear. (Don't puree the pear or it won't have any "grit" left for scrubbing. Add to a small bowl and stir in all other ingredients. Scoop out pear mix, and use to gently exfoliate skin. If you are using on face, test on a small area first.

Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.
