Fresh Avocados - a Beauty Classic

avocadoes with brush
Avocados have been a staple for home spa enthusiasts for decades, and for good reason. They’re rich in Vitamin E, which helps moisturize skin from the inside out, and may help reduce sun-damage. They also include vitamins A, B1, B2, Pantothenic Acid and fatty acids.

To use, take a knife and make a cut halfway through the avocado, then turn the avocado to make the cut come full circle. Twist the two sides, and one side will pop off without the pit. Take the tip of the knife, and “flick”out the pit. You can now cut slices, or scoop out the flesh for mashing as needed. Enjoy nibbling on any leftovers – Avocados are good for you and so delicious!

Avocado Hair Conditioner*

Ingredients

1 Avocado, peeled and mashed
2 Tbsp plain yogurt
2 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together in a small bowl. Then scoop up and massage into hair. Cover hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap, and a towel, and let soak in for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse and wash well. Hair will feel softer and silkier.

Avocado Eye Puffiness Treatment*

Ingredients

2 slices of avocado, sliced about ¼” thick and trimmed into half circles about 1¾” wide.

Instructions

Place slices just under eyes, and let rest there for about 20 minutes. (Or you can also mash them and use a soft brush to apply.) Rinse well and dry gently. Puffiness should be much reduced.
